Darren McMahon - Writer Biography

Darren McMahon is a Writer and Artist based in Lahinch, Co. Clare. He has written for publications GCN Magazine, JOE, Daily Edge, Clare Champion, and Clare People. More recently he worked as Programmer of the inaugural Ennis Internationals Fantastic FilmFest.

When not writing he spends his time working as a Visual and Graphic Designer. He is currently working on a followup series to The Importance of Eyebrows, his first TV series, as well as a political TV drama, and a feature length comedy.

The Importance of Eyebrows - Short Synopsis

Set in mid 2000s Limerick, The Importance of Eyebrows follows 22 year old medical student Cillian O’Connor. Recently diagnosed with stage 3B cancer, he soon finds out that it’s the least of his problems. A jealous ex-boyfriend, dysfunctional parents, upcoming university exams, a potential new relationship, and a dream scholarship in San Francisco at stake, can he manage all this, AND beat cancer?

With the help of his 5 new peers at Limerick Oncology Unit, AKA Chemo Village, he might just have a shot!
