Lene Borglum was one of the key figures and co-owner of Zentropa for 15 years. In her position as expert in international financing she handled international financing on a large number of Zentropa's international films, including Lars von Trier's highly acclaimed and award-winning films The Kingdom I and II (1994, 1996), The Idiots, Breaking the Waves (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), and was Executive Producer on Trier's Dogville (2003), Manderlay (2005), and The Boss of It All (2006). After Borglum left Zentropa, she was executive producer on Lukas Moodysson's first English language feature film Mammoth (2009) and Nicolas Winding Refn's Valhalla Rising (2009). Borglum and Refn teamed up to found production company Space Rocket Nation.
